THE OBJECTIVE of this tournament is for you to play and compete against players of same age and same level and introduce you to the excitement of the competitive play. Each player will compete against every other player in their group in a best-of-three-sets match. The number of groups will be determined by the number of players participating.
TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS:
Level of play: - beginning and intermediate ages 9 to 14.
To Register: Please send an e-mail to Cosmin Miholca at procosmin@yahoo.com. Players must provide their name, email address, telephone number. Contact information is essential so that participants will be able to arrange matches. Please register early, as the entry deadline will be strictly enforced.
- After the players sign-up, they will receive a confirmation email, which will include the other players contact information. Matches may begin any time after the tournament start date (see below).
- Every player is responsible for contacting their opponents and scheduling the date, time and place of the match in accordance with their opponents availability. Match sites should be at any San Clemente public court, or wherever both parties agree to.
- Every match is played best of 3 sets, regular scoring, with a 12-point tiebreak at 6 all.
- Before every match, the players should warm-up against their opponents for 10 minutes (including serve warm-up).
- Once every match is completed, the winning player is responsible to report the score to Cosmin by sending an e-mail to procosmin@yahoo.com.
- Three points are awarded for a match won in straight sets, two points for a match won at the deciding set and 1 point for a loss. The scores will be updated daily at Cosmin’s personal website www.ProCosmin.com.
- The tournament will start on May 15, 2006. The entry deadline is May 13, 2006.
- Every player is required to bring an unopened can of tennis balls (Penn, Dunlop or Wilson) at the beginning of every match; no practice balls. One can of balls will be used for the match and the winner will take the unopened can.
- Every player must play all the matches within their groups. If a player refuses to play their match, he/she will default and get 0 points.
- A spirit of fair-play and cooperation is a must for all players!
REGISTRATION FEE: $10 per person. All entry fees will go towards the cost of the trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners (the remaining money will be spent on tennis items for first 3 places winners).
TOURNAMENT START DATE: Tournament start date will be Monday, May 15, 2006. Entry deadline for emails and registration fees is Saturday, May 13.

Everybody should play only one match against every other players. Players must contact their opponents by phone or e-mail. The challenged player may select the time and location of the match. However, the time and location should be mutually agreeable to both players.
Play will be best of 3 sets, regular scoring, using the 12 point tie-breaker at 6 games all.
The winner of the match is responsible to report the result within 24 hours by contacting Cosmin via e-mail at procosmin@yahoo.com . The scores will be updated daily at Cosmin’s personal website www.ProCosmin.com.
Every player should bring to the match an unopened can of tennis balls. Use one can and the winner keeps the unopened one.
For every match won, the winner gets 3 points (for a match won in straight sets) or 2 points (for a match won at the deciding set); loser gets 1 point. If a player doesn't show up for the match within a 15 minutes time frame after the scheduled time, she/he forfeit the match and gets 0 points. If a player cancels a match two times, he/she defaults the match.
